Prof. Keiichi Tao is the Director of the Graduate School of Management of Technology at Ritsumeikan University, with over 25 years of experience in corporate financial analysis, consulting, and business strategy. Born in 1987 in Shizuoka Prefecture and a graduate of the Tokyo University of the Arts, he began studying Ikuta-ryu Koto music under Grand Master Miki Chizuru, later advancing with Kanazu Chieko to become a Master of Ikuta-ryu Koto Music Seigensha. In 2012, he expanded his skills by learning Kokyu with Takahashi Suishu, and in 2015, joined the Heike Storytelling Research Group to study the Heike Biwa tradition, a precursor to Jiuta Koto music.
He is actively exploring how Japanese classical music intersects with modern disciplines to ensure its legacy for future generations. His affiliations include the Japan Sankyoku Association, Mori no Kai, Yoiro no Kai, Ensemble Muromachi, and several other cultural organizations.
